Oxford House I
"A classic Victorian house in Oxford with a gentle approach to colour.”
House & Garden Magazine, December 2024
Just a short walk from Oxford’s serene water meadows, this charming four-storey Victorian house belongs to clients Charlotte has previously collaborated with in London. Originally designed by William Wilkinson in 1884 and inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, the house provided a perfect canvas for a complete transformation.
Charlotte and her team redecorated the entire home, artfully mixing William Morris wallpapers, antique textiles, and bespoke as well as antique furniture, all brought together through a sophisticated and cohesive colour palette. Though the clients brought only a few pieces of furniture from London, their art collection served as an inspiring starting point for many of the interiors. Guided by the elegant architecture of the building, Charlotte added character and depth by designing bespoke panelling for the drawing room, further enriching the home’s unique charm.
